Basic Design Principles: Gardening with Crassulaceae
Part of a series on best planting practices, how to make design decisions and dependable selections you can incorporate in your garden right now.
When most gardeners use the word ‘succulents,’ they are generally referring to members of the Crassulaceae (stonecrop) family. These wonderful plants (such as Echeveria, Sedum, Aeonium and many more) come in a wide variety of shapes and colors and are an essential element of the water-wise garden. With our Basic Design Principles series, Cricket Riley (Landscape Design Consultant with RBG Nursery) will cover many of the different factors you need to consider and help you navigate the process of refurbishing a bed or designing a whole new garden.
