The City of Walnut Creek and Walnut Creek Downtown are again collaborating to add artistic flair to our core downtown with a second call for the WC Utility Box Project. Artwork from selected artists will be featured on eleven utility boxes located throughout the downtown. The artwork will be transferred to vinyl wraps and adhered to the utility boxes during Community Service Day on October 10.
The WC Downtown Business Association is offering a $150 stipend to chosen artists, and artists will be acknowledged in various ways including:
• Credit on the box (name and title of work)
• Promotion of the project with press and social media by the Downtown Business Association and Bedford Gallery
• The Utility Box Project will be included in the Bedford Gallery’s ongoing Public Art Walking Tours.
• Select images of the Utility Box Project may be included in the reprint of the Walnut Creek Public Art Program Brochure and Public Art web page.
