Come parade downtown in a decorated bike, car or tractor. Ride your horse. Form a kazoo marching band. Pull your child in a wagon with a group. Get together with your neighbors, co-workers, or family and march in tie-dye shirts or better yet, build a float around this year’s theme! All types of entries are encouraged. Just join in the fun!
“Of course, floats and bands really are the crowd-pleasing highlights of a parade. Neighborhood groups, organizations, and businesses are encouraged to enter a float that is theme based….or just downright zany. This really “pops” the identity of your business or organization…as well as being fun,” says Commission President, Jim Bonato.
The day begins at 7:00 am with a 5K Fun Run, followed by the parade at 9:00 AM. After the parade walk on over to the Pleasant Hill Park for music, games and food with special activities for children. Don’t miss the hit of last year’s park activities -The Pie Eating Contest! Enjoy the spectacular fireworks show and live music performed by the Diablo Valley College Pops Band at College Park High School football field in the evening. Go to the Commission’s website at www.phjuly4.com for more information about the Fun Run and parade entry forms.
If you own a business or work for one that can assist in putting on this Fourth of July Celebration we would appreciate their assistance and/or business and corporate sponsorships.
