Submit Stories



Submission Guidelines:

Submission deadline for our monthly publication is the 2nd Friday of the month for the following month's issue. Submit all stories to info@ourcommunityfocus.com.

Event Calendar

1) Post your events, free of charge, on our online events calendar located on our homepage.  
2) For our print calendar, please submit no more than 30 words to : calendar@ourcommunityfocus.com.

Letters to the Editor

We invite your comments and opinions. Letters should be no longer than 350 words and submitted with first and last name. Address and daytime telephone number required but not published. All letters will be published at the editor's discretion.  The Focus reserves the right to edit submissions for length, clarity, possible libel and propriety or to refuse letters we feel contradict our mission. Email letters to info@ourcommunityfocus.com.

Articles and Ideas

Idea: Feel free to inform us of a news event and or article idea by calling or emailing us.  925-335-6397 or info@ourcommunityfocus.com.

Articles and Photos: 
General rule for article submissions is 375 words.  This can vary depending on space.  Please contact us if necessary.
Photos are encouraged and need to be 300dpi. Please include name of photographer.

Sports Stories

Please submit sports stories, no more than 200 words and a captioned photos, if possible.  Please Include name of photographer. All photos should be 300dpi.

School Stories

Please send submissions of up to 300 words to info@ourcommunityfocus.com.  A photograph should be included if possible; please provide the names of everyone in the photo (if minors are pictured in a private event/activity, parents must give permission for their child’s name/image to be published) as well as the name and email address of the photographer.  Photos need to be 300dpi.
