MEF Announces $135,972 in Grants

The Board of Directors of the Martinez Education Foundation has announced their 2012 Grant Awards. This year, MEF was able to award 37 grants totaling $135,972 for new technology, equipment, tools, books, musical instruments and other physical items to be used in classrooms throughout the Martinez public schools. Seven of the grants in the area of arts and music were made in partnership with the Cameron Baird Foundation.

• Alhambra High School $36,822

• Martinez Junior High School $31,189

• Vincente Martinez High School $10,087

• Morello Park Elementary $17,370

• Las Juntas Elementary $24,595

• John Swett Elementary $ 9,681

• John Muir Elementary $ 5,850

• Adult Education $ 378
