Public Art Walking Tours in Walnut Creek
Join the Bedford Gallery Docents on a guided walking tour of Walnut Creek’s wonderful public art collection. Tours start at 11 a.m. every third Saturday of the month and offer different routes throughout the year. Admission is $5 and includes a free pass to the Bedford Gallery.
Tour highlights provide an up-close view of works by Stephen De Staebler, Yoshio Taylor, Seyed Alavi, Bruce Beasley and others. Tours also include the Veteran’s Memorial Plaza by Cliff Garten and a recent mural by Oregon artist Josh Keyes. Bedford Gallery docents are trained by public art specialists and can offer information and insight appropriate for all ages. Docents offer four different tours, each focusing on a specific group of artworks that grace the city’s landscape.
The 60-minute, docent-led walking tours depart from the front of the Lesher Center. Walking tours will be cancelled in the event of rain. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and sun protection.
