Exploring Concord's Past with the Contra Costa County Historical Society
Annual Meeting and Holiday Luncheon at the NEW Concord Museum & Event Center
Event tags: Concord, Contra Costa County, Local History discussion
Join the Contra Costa County Historical Society for a holiday luncheon and special program “Exploring Concord’s Past".
This year’s program explores two important elements of Concord’s past. Special guest Lloyd Crenna will present photographs and answer questions about the fascinating “move” of the Concord Masonic Temple.
Guest Speaker John Keibel will follow with an illustrated presentation of his book Behind the Barbed Wire: History of Naval Weapons Station Concord. Have you ever wondered what went on behind the barbed wire fence? This story is an intriguing one: an intricate web of life and loss, national defense and protest, scientific advance and obsolescence.
