"Rock & Roll and Soul" Featuring: Joe Fonzi - drums Bob Sarlatte - vocals T.J.Burke - vocals Rob Birsinger - bass Tom Tomasello - keyboard + The BJR horn section Bobby Joe Russell and the All-Star Band features two Bay Area faces that longtime residents will probably recognize. Singer Bob Sarlatte is a comedian, emcee, actor and former PA announcer for the San Francisco 49ers and drummer Joe Fonzi has been a KTVU sports anchor since the 1980s. But they become something new together onstage, joining a 11-piece band that plays 1960s and ’70s rock ’n’ roll and soul covers, plus a few originals. T.J. Burke also sings with East Bay jazz quartet Q'ed Up, his male acapella vocal group Quintessential, and local jazz/soul/R&B band Private Practice. He is currently honing his skills as a songwriter, and is also pursuing a career in T.V. and film. Bassist Rob Birsinger and keyboardist Tommy Tomassello are among the all-stars, coming over from Sarlatte’s longtime band, Butch Whacks and the Glass Packs. Thomas Tomasello is a versitle music producer, arranger and keyboardist. He has performed with Louie Bellson, David Park, Martha Reeves, Sheila E., The Temptations and Al Green. Expect everything from James Brown to Tower of Power, Junior Walker, Martha Reeves, Sam and Dave, and other hits from the 1950s to some classic 1980s rock tunes.
