Are you prepared to help your family and neighborhood? Disasters can happen at any time. Join CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) and learn the skills to better prepare you for emergencies and how to respond when your family, neighbors, and community need you the most.
The City of Martinez, in conjunction with the County Office of Emergency Services, is sponsoring Emergency Preparedness classes for residents of the community. The goals of the CERT program are to enable neighborhood or workplace teams to prepare for and respond effectively to an event until professional responders arrive, to provide a link between neighborhood or workplace teams and professional responders, and to integrate CERT Zones into the community. CERT members are then integrated into the emergency response capability for their area. CERT training will include 20 hours of instruction over a 6-week period in the following areas:
Disaster Preparedness and Terrorism
Disaster Medical Operations
Light Search and Rescue
CERT Organization and Disaster Psychology
Final Simulated Disaster Exercise
For more information about the CERT program or to register for classes, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or Corporal Mike Estanol at email@example.com. Thank you for your interest and support.
