Winners of the Pleasant Hill Community Awards

The 45th Annual Pleasant Hill Community Awards event was held on Wednesday, January 27th at the Pleasant Hill Community Center. There were 22 nominees for seven competitive awards including Citizen, Businessperson, Educator, Teen and Green Business of the Year. The winners were as follows:   

  • Teen of the Year - Laura Maule (College Park High School)
  • Educator of the Year - Liz Kim (Principal at Strandwood Elementary)
  • Green Award - Anne Baker
  • Green Business Award - Pleasant Hill CoHousing
  • Community Plus Award - Mike Furtado (City Maintenance Division)
  • Business Person of the Year - Ron Jewison (UPS Store)
  • Citizen of the Year - Matt Rinn 
The Mayor’s Award was given to the Pleasant Hill Fourth of July Commission, which hosts the 40th annual celebration of Independence Day. Other awards included the Chamber Board Appreciation Award (Scott Luke); the Chamber Ambassadors of the Year Award (Pamela Green and Susan Wood); the Rec & Park District Community Service Award (Monument Crisis Center); the Rec & Park District Board Appreciation Award (Land Home Financial); and the Community Foundation Cornerstone Award (Bob Berggren).
