Grateful Dead event at the PH Library - 11/4

Oct 29, 2015 11:34PM ● Published by Jennifer Neys

Come spend an Evening With Friends on Wednesday, November 4 at 6:30 pm to hear from Dennis McNally, authorized biographer and historian for The Grateful Dead as he talks about his new book “Jerry On Jerry: The Unpublished Jerry Garcia Interviews.”

Commemorate the 20th anniversary of the death of Jerry Garcia and the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Band. Hear about one of the most legendary bands in rock history. Learn about 1960’s counter-culture and the history of American rock-and-roll from someone who was there.

Dennis writes, “These were conversations, not interrogations, and because Jerry had a genuine love of trading stories, the subjects tended to veer off into side-tangents that were absolutely fascinating…but not always material that fit into the story line of the Grateful Dead. So there was fabulous stuff – Jerry talking about community, or how he planned (or didn’t, exactly) his solos, or artists (musical as well as visual) that he loved – that didn’t make it into the book.”
